Call to Artists: ‘Anything Goes’ Exhibition *Members Only! Entries accepted February 27th 4 -7 PM

The OCA Gallery is pleased to announce that our March 2018 exhibit will be entitled “Anything Goes”.  This is a special exhibition featuring the art of OCA Members. To learn more about becoming a member of OCA, click here.

Entries will be accepted Tuesday, February 27th from 4 – 7 pm in the OCA Gallery; entry fee is $20; members may apply their annual free exhibit entry.

Artist reception for “Anything Goes”  is March 3rd from 4 – 7 PM.

“Anything Goes” exhibition runs March 2, 2018 through April 1, 2018.  The gallery is open Fridays, Saturdays and  Sundays from 11AM – 4PM and during the intermission of auditorium events.

 

Guidelines for Entries!

Occidental Center for the Arts Gallery is pleased to present exhibitions exclusively featuring Sonoma County Artists. Throughout the year we offer themed, juried exhibitions as well as invitational exhibits. Planning and execution of exhibits is the undertaking of a dedicated group of volunteers on our Gallery Committee. If you are interested in joining the gallery committee, or volunteering to help with specific tasks, please let us know!

Juried exhibits are open exclusively to Sonoma County Artists. Only original artwork will be accepted for exhibitions (no Giclées); however, prints of accepted pieces may also be submitted for display in our print rack. The following restrictions apply to all entries for our juried exhibits:

A maximum of four pieces of original art may be entered into any single exhibit. Works previously accepted into OCA juried exhibits may not be entered again. Entry fees apply and are subject to change at any time. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Maximum size for a single piece is 4’ x 4’ for two-dimensional pieces, 24 cubic feet for three-dimensional pieces. Each piece may not exceed 50 lbs. Work must be ready to hang by secure wire on back, with gallery wrapped edges or frame.

Accepted entries for juried exhibits will be posted on the OCA website within 24 hours of the juror’s selection. Artists who’s entries are accepted are encouraged to provide an ‘Artist’s Statement’ on 8.5 x 11 paper for our artist binder. This can be submitted by email or hard copy.

OCA accepts all artwork as commissioned; all pieces must be for sale. OCA retains 40% of sale price; 60% commission paid to artist within 30 days of sale. OCA is responsible for collecting and reporting sales tax.

OCA requests that sold items be left in the gallery for the duration of the exhibit, unless the purchaser is from outside Sonoma County. Should a piece be removed by the purchaser, the artist will have the opportunity to submit a replacement piece, which must be of similar size and also appropriate for the exhibition’s theme.

Exhibition dates and pickup schedule is noted on the receipt for artwork during the entry process. Works not picked up within 10 days of the stated pickup date become the property of OCA.
