Gallery Exhibition
OCA invites artistic submissions for the theme of “The Fool”: Two or three dimensional art that calls to mind any ideas embodied by the fool/jester, as in: a spirit in search of experience; mystical vs. worldly; crazy wisdom; trickster any personal visual interpretation of the idea! This exhibit corresponds with the Annual Occidental Fool’s Day Parade.
The show will run March 9 – May 5, 2012. $50 Best of Show Award.
To participate in the show, deliver exhibit ready artwork to the OCA Gallery at the Occidental Center for the Arts on Sunday, March 4 from 4:00-5:00 pm. Accompany piece or pieces with a completed Fool-Gallery-Contract from this website and cash or a check made out to OCA.
One entry for $10.00 and two for $15.00. Best of Show Award $50.
The juror for this show is Leslie Zumwalt, artist and owner of Frame of Mind in Forestville, who will select Best of Show and Award of Merit prizes.
Opening Reception for the Artists is: Saturday, March 10, from 5:00-6:30 pm. OCA Gallery will provide beverages and munchies for the reception.

Please fill out a contract for each piece prior to arrival.
All work must be of high quality and not larger than 4′x4′, wired, dry, and ready to hang or display. We prefer wires unless absolutely impossible (we don’t like bull dog hangers!). All paintings must have finished edges (no canvas staples showing). All art should be labeled with the following on the back or bottom of the piece:
- artist’s name
- artist’s contact information
- the pieces title
All media accepted if possible.
The Gallery takes 40% of all sales as a commission to the Occidental Center for the Arts, so price accordingly
The show will end on Saturday, May 5, 2012.
Pick up of all art is Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 3pm to 4:30 pm
Due to limited storage space, any art not picked up by that time will be charged $1 a day storage fee. Art left for 30 days will become property of OCA.

The OCA Gallery is open Thursday and Friday from 12 noon to 4 pm, during Occidental Center for the Arts events or by appointment.
