Meredith Axelrod: Popular Songs from a Bygone Era Sunday, March 25th 4 - 6 PM

We are pleased to welcome back the engaging vintage Americana singer and guitarist Meredith Axelrod .This Chicago native and Bay Area transplant is a fine multi-instrumentalist as well as a unique vocalist who delivers heartfelt renditions of ragtime, music hall, minstrel, pop standards, boogie woogie jazz, country, old time blues, and even jugtime tunes from times gone by. Meredith sings and plays guitar as if she had time-traveled back to pre-mic days, learning from the original recordings and tools of musicology, and bringing her own charm and humor with a large dose of devotion to these American cultural treasures. In her care, the old songs are unmistakeably inspired, infectious and relevant. She has been on our stage twice with string virtuoso Craig Ventresco, and with Jim Kweskin for their fine ‘Songcatcher’s Tour’. Meredith has her own hot jazz band, her own string band, and plays regularly with many music legends such as David Grisman, Dan Hicks, Ramblin’ Jack Eliot , Maria Muldaur and more.
